Hide Sidebar on Post or Page

The No Sidebar blog is a bit of a trend these days. While many of our customers still prefer a blog with a sidebar, some have expressed an interest in using our Blogger templates without the right sidebar.

This tutorial offers instructions on how to “remove” the right sidebar and center the blog content area on individual posts or pages for the following Blogger templates:

  • Jolie
  • Felicity
  • Sophie
  • Kiersten
  • Phoebe
  • Heyden
  • Justine
  • Victoria
  • Peyton

“Remove” Sidebar

  1. Log in to Blogger Dashboard and navigate to the Posts or Pages page.
  2. Find the post or page you want to edit. Click on the post or page title to edit it.
  3. In the post or page editor, make sure you are in Text mode. Click on the HTML in the editor toolbar.no_sidebar1.png
  4. Copy and paste the code below at the TOP of the content window above all other code.no_sidebar2.png
  5. Click the Update or Publish button to save changes.

THE CODE (copy and paste all of it)

<style>#sidebar-wrapper {display: none;}
.content-blog {padding-right: 0;}
.content-main {margin: 0 auto; float:none; max-width: 100%;}
#content {padding-right: 0 !important;}</style>

The blog content area on the page or post will now take up the entire content area.

*To edit the content width, change the following code in the code above:

.content-main {margin: 0 auto; float:none; max-width: 100%;}

- Change the max-width to a % or a pixel number. Example: max-width: 700px;
