Slider Setup (Marissa)

This template includes 21 different slider layouts & styles including single sliders and carousel or grid style sliders with different overlay styles.

Recommended Image sizes:

The following image sizes work best for each slider type:

  • Boxed single slider: 1170px by 540px
  • Fullwidth slider: 1800px by 540px
  • Centered slider: 1170px by 540px
  • Grid Style 1: 350px by 400px
  • Grid Style 2: 900px by 400px
  • Grid Style 3: 900px by 400px
  • Grid Style 4: 600px by 400px
  • Grid Style 5: 450px by 400px

NOTE: Make sure you have at least 1 Label assigned to each of your posts. Otherwise the slider will fail (as well as the Trending Posts).

*The slider uses the first image from each post. Make sure you set your image size to "Original" for best display.

 

Single Slider Setup

  1. On the Blogger Dashboard, go to the Layout page.
  2. In the blue Theme Options section find the Display Featured Slider box. This is the on/off switch for the single slider. The default setting is on. 
  3. If you want to disable the single slider, click the Edit link on the Display Featured Slider box. In the Content area, enter "No" (no quotes) and click the Save button. This will disable the single slider.
  4. Next locate the Featured Slider Styles box. This controls the single slider layout and overlay styles. The default style is the boxed slider with white text overlay.
  5. To edit the slider style, click on the Edit link.
  6. In the Content area, enter your layout and style codes.
  7. Layout options are: [Boxedwidth] or [Fullwidth] or [Centred]
  8. Overlay options are default (enter nothing) or [caption2]
  9. Example: fullwidth slider with caption 2 style, enter: [Fullwidth][caption2]
  10. Click the Save button when done choosing your layout and style.
  11. One more step to activating the slider.
  12. Under the Main Content area, find the FEATURED-AREA, Featured Posts box. Click on the Edit link.
  13. You can choose from 3 options for posts to display: Recent, Random or by Label. Insert your option code into the box Content area. Your slider will not show until you do this!
  14. Recent Posts:
    num/recent posts
    ex : 5/recent posts
  15. Random Posts:
    num/random posts
    ex : 3/random posts
  16. by Label:
    num/label
    ex : 3/Fashion
  17. Click the Save button. Your slider will now be active.

 

Carousel/Grid Slider Setup

  1. On the Layout page, find the blue Theme Options section.
  2. Find the Display Grid Slider box. This is the on/off switch for the grid style slider. Default is on.
  3. To disable the grid slider, click the Edit link. Enter "No" (no quotes) into the widget content area. Click the Save button to save.
  4. Now locate the Grid Slider Styles box. This controls the slider layout and overlay styles.
  5. Click the Edit link to open the settings box.
  6. You can choose from 5 different grid slider layouts. Default is style1
    [style1] : is a default style 3 Cols with Centered
    [style2] : is a 1 Cols style with Centered
    [style3] : is a 2 Cols style
    [style4] : is a 3 Cols style
    [style5] : is a 4 Cols style
  7. For overlay styles you can choose from default (enter nothing) or [caption2]
  8. Example: Style 2 slider with caption 2 style, enter: [style2][caption2]
  9. Click the Save button to save your slider settings.
  10. One step left to activate slider.
  11. Under the Main Content area, find the GRID-AREA, Grid Posts Slider box. Click the Edit link to open the settings box.
  12. You can choose from 3 options for posts to display: Recent, Random or by Label. Insert your option code into the box Content area. Your slider will not show until you do this!
  13. Recent Posts:
    num/recent posts
    ex : 5/recent posts
  14. Random Posts:
    num/random posts
    ex : 3/random posts
  15. by Label:
    label
    ex : Fashion
  16. Click the Save button to save your settings.
