Customize and Troubleshoot the Slider (Marissa)

Troubleshooting

If all you're getting is a spinner, make sure that:

1. Your blog is set to Public mode. The slider runs off the RSS feed which only works in Public mode.

2. Your RSS feed settings are set to Full or Until Jump Break. (Found under Settings > Other > Allow Blog Feed).

3. Your posts have an image associated with them.

Customize the Slider

Use the following CSS code to customize your slider.

To add the code

  1. Go to your Dashboard > Template > Customize.
  2. Click on the Advanced tab
  3. Scroll down until you find "Add CSS" and click on it.
  4. Copy and paste the code into the window.
  5. Click Apply to Blog to save changes.

To hide labels only:

.featured-slider .featured-overlay .featured-cat {display: none !important;}

To hide meta data under post title:

.featured-slider .featured-overlay .featured-post-meta {display: none !important;}

To hide all slider text:

.featured-slider .featured-overlay {display: none !important;}

To hide gray image overlay:

.featured-posts .swiper-slide::before {background-color: none !important;}

(Keep in mind that the gray overlay makes the text on the images more readable. It is best to only remove if your are also removing the slider text as well).
