General Theme Settings


This tutorial covers some General Settings available for the WordPress themes by Georgia Lou Studios.

General Theme Settings

  1. On your WordPress Dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize or click the blue Customize Your Site button on the Dashboard home page.general1.jpg
  2. The Customizer will open. This is where a majority of the theme settings live.
  3. Click on the Theme Options tab.general2.jpg

  5. Use the number slider to adjust the Site Container Width to suite your taste.
  6. Under the Page Loader Settings, you can enable or disable the page loader and choose a page loader style.
  7. The Slide In Sidebar is the widget area that is triggered from the icon in the menu. You may or enable or disable this optional widget area.
  8. The General Sidebar Settings control the default layout for pages. (This does not affect posts, the blog page, or archive pages.)
  9. Under Extras, you can enable or disable: the back to top button, scroll reveal and the first letter overlay.
  10. When you are done setting your options, click the Publish button to save your changes.

Text Options

  1. In the Customizer, under the Theme Options tab, click on the Text Options tab. This tabs contains some front end text settings.
  2. In the text fields, you can enter your custom:
    1. Read More buttons text
    2. Load More button text
    3. Previous Article text
    4. Next Article text.general4.jpg
  3. Save your changes by clicking on the Publish button.
